Luanda — The president of the United Republic of Tanzania, Jakaya Kikwete, arrived Thursday evening in Luanda, to attend the Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) taking place from May 31 to June 1 in the Angolan capital.

President Jakaya Kikwete was welcomed at Luanda's "4 de Fevereiro" International Airport by Angolan minister of Energy, João Baptista Borges.

The Luanda meeting is discussing matters linked to the process of regional integration and includes meetings of the Troika (Angola, Mozambique and Namibia) and the Organ for Political, Defence and Security Cooperation.
Political matters like the situation in Madagascar, the Troika report on SADC campaigning for the African Union Commission chair are also on the agenda for the meeting.
